Yerevan Zvartnots International Airport (EVN) lies about 12 km west of Yerevan city centre — a 20-minute drive — and is the main gateway to Armenia. There is no train or metro to the airport, so every traveller reaches the city by road: taxi, ride-hailing app, pre-booked transfer, rental car or the public bus. Which one suits you depends on your budget, your luggage, the time you land and whether you are staying in Yerevan or heading on to Echmiadzin, Lake Sevan, Dilijan or Gyumri.

By taxi & ride-hailing
Licensed taxis wait outside the arrivals hall, so you rarely queue for long. Most locals, though, use the ride-hailing apps Yandex Go and GG, which show the fare up front and are usually cheaper than a desk taxi — see our guide to ride-hailing at the airport. Whichever you choose, agree the fare or use the meter/app before you set off. The currency is the Armenian dram (֏); carry some cash, as not every driver takes cards. Private transfer
A pre-booked transfer locks in a fixed price and puts a driver in the arrivals hall waiting for you, often with a name board. It is the calmest choice after a long flight — many flights into Yerevan land in the small hours — or when you are travelling as a family or group, carrying lots of luggage, or heading straight to a specific hotel or on to Sevan or Dilijan. Bus 201
The cheapest way into town is the public bus 201, which runs between the airport and central Yerevan for a flat fare of a few hundred dram. Rental car
Several rental companies keep desks in the terminal. A car is the easiest way to explore Armenia at your own pace — Lake Sevan, the monasteries of Garni and Geghard, forested Dilijan and the road to Gyumri.
